With 10 plus years of experience, there’s not much that can surprise me on a wedding day. Full disclosure, my first year of shooting weddings was an absolute disaster. But I strongly believe that if you never see where you’re falling short, then you’ll never grow and progress.
I’m continually learning and exploring the limits of photography. I find it vital to surround myself with the people and things that inspire me most. I’ve found that when I’m living a life in accordance to my values, my photos are a reflection of my core beliefs. They communicate joy, vulnerability, beauty in the everyday life, and connection.
It was probably witnessing connection in such a raw and vulnerable way over and over again that hooked me to weddings. Weddings are similar in so many ways but it’s in the intimate connections between all the people involved on a wedding day that makes each one so unique and truly magical. It makes sense that photography became such an important element to weddings. The very essence of photography is to freeze a moment in time that becomes history the instant it was taken. Pure poetry.
