Diving in

I’ll be honest, I’m not much of a writer. In fact, full transparency, writing stresses me out.

So why start a blog?

It’s simple. I need a place where I can post the photos that express my creativity with no limits. A place where I can share my experiences with the cities I’ve seen, the good food I have savored, and the interesting people I’ve met.

It’s these images and experiences that fuel my drive as a photographer. When I am able to let go of all expectations and give myself the freedom to let my imagination run wild, I am able to look through my lens with eyes wide open. I am able to slow down and see unique details. The way light caresses it’s subject. Or the slight changes in one’s expression while thinking.

It excites me. This idea of showing up to a shoot with no expectations of how it’s going to go and just flowing with whatever happens. To capture life as it unfolds in an authentic and beautiful way.

I try and bring as much of this excitement and perspective to my weddings as I possibly can. I love capturing those moments that tell the complete story of the day. Like the ring bearer yawning, waiting for his turn. Or the bride’s tan lines from being in the sun all day. A weeping groom dancing with his mother feeling the absence of his father.

Life is full of so many beautiful moments and I feel like weddings are a perfect place to capture them.
